MyRentable Prohibited Items Policy

1. Purpose and Scope

This Prohibited Items Policy explains what may not be listed, requested, rented, transferred, promoted, sold, exchanged, or otherwise facilitated through MyRentable, LLC.

This Policy applies to Listings, Booking requests, messages, photographs, reviews, payments, deliveries, pickup arrangements, claims, and all other marketplace activity.

The Policy supplements the Terms of Service, Community Standards, Marketplace Policies, and applicable law.

A category may be prohibited even when ownership or possession may be lawful in a particular location. MyRentable may establish marketplace rules that are more restrictive than the minimum requirements of law.

2. User Responsibility

Users are responsible for determining whether property and its proposed rental are lawful, safe, insurable, transportable, and permitted by MyRentable.

• An Owner must lawfully own, possess, or control the property and have authority to rent it.
• A Renter must be legally permitted and reasonably qualified to possess, transport, store, and use the property.
• Users must obtain required licenses, permits, registrations, inspections, insurance, approvals, and authorizations.
• Users must comply with age, location, transportation, storage, safety, environmental, and operating restrictions.
• Users may not rely on publication of a Listing as confirmation that the property or transaction is lawful or permitted.

3. General Prohibition

Property, services, or transactions may not be offered through MyRentable when they are:

• Illegal to possess, rent, transfer, transport, store, advertise, or use.
• Stolen, fraudulently obtained, unlawfully possessed, or subject to an unresolved ownership dispute.
• Counterfeit, pirated, forged, materially altered, or falsely represented.
• Subject to an unresolved safety recall, legal seizure, embargo, forfeiture, or government prohibition.
• Unreasonably dangerous, materially defective, or unsafe for the disclosed purpose.
• Intended to facilitate violence, exploitation, fraud, theft, harassment, evasion, or another prohibited activity.
• Outside a supported MyRentable category.
• Restricted by this Policy even if otherwise lawful.

4. Weapons and Weapon Components

Weapons and items primarily designed to injure, disable, intimidate, or facilitate violent conduct are prohibited.

• Firearms of every type.
• Handguns, rifles, shotguns, machine guns, short-barreled firearms, and homemade firearms.
• Receivers, frames, unfinished receivers, conversion devices, and firearm-building kits.
• Silencers, suppressors, trigger activators, and prohibited firearm accessories.
• Ammunition, cartridges, shells, primers, propellant, and reloading components.
• Explosives, bombs, grenades, mines, rockets, and destructive devices.
• Switchblades, automatic knives, ballistic knives, disguised knives, and other regulated weapons.
• Brass knuckles, blackjacks, throwing stars, batons, and similar impact weapons.
• Tasers, stun guns, conducted-energy weapons, and restricted self-defense devices.
• Pepper spray, mace, tear gas, and chemical-defense products.
• Weaponized drones or remotely operated weapon systems.
• Parts, plans, software, tools, or equipment primarily intended to manufacture prohibited weapons.

Ordinary tools, sporting equipment, and lawful utility knives may be permitted when their primary purpose is not use as a weapon and the Listing otherwise complies with this Policy.

5. Explosives, Fireworks, and Combustible Devices

• Commercial, military, improvised, or homemade explosives.
• Fireworks, firecrackers, aerial shells, rockets, and pyrotechnic devices.
• Detonators, blasting caps, fuses, igniters, and explosive initiators.
• Incendiary devices, thermite, explosive targets, and similar products.
• Bulk explosive powders or materials intended for explosive use.
• Equipment offered together with materials or instructions to create an explosive device.

Equipment used by qualified professionals for lawful construction, demolition, mining, theatrical, or industrial work may be listed only when it is not itself an explosive or prohibited device and is otherwise supported by MyRentable.

6. Controlled Substances and Recreational Drugs

• Illegal drugs and controlled substances.
• Cannabis, marijuana, THC products, and intoxicating hemp products.
• Psychedelic mushrooms, psilocybin, LSD, MDMA, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.
• Drug paraphernalia primarily intended for unlawful consumption, production, concealment, or distribution.
• Equipment, chemicals, precursors, or supplies primarily intended to manufacture controlled substances.
• Synthetic intoxicants, designer drugs, and misrepresented chemical products.
• Substances offered with unlawful medical, intoxication, or performance claims.

This prohibition applies even when a substance is permitted under some state or local laws.

7. Medications and Medical Products

• Prescription medications.
• Controlled medications.
• Unapproved drugs or medical treatments.
• Used or opened medications.
• Medical products requiring a prescription or licensed professional.
• Human tissue, blood, organs, bodily fluids, or biological specimens.
• Implantable medical devices.
• Used needles, syringes, lancets, and contaminated medical equipment.
• Products represented as diagnosing, treating, curing, or preventing disease when unlawfully offered.

Certain ordinary mobility aids, accessibility devices, wellness equipment, and nonprescription medical equipment may be permitted when sanitary, lawful, safe, and not subject to professional-use restrictions.

8. Alcohol, Tobacco, and Nicotine Products

• Beer, wine, liquor, spirits, and alcoholic beverages.
• Tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, and loose tobacco.
• Electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, and vaping devices intended for nicotine or drug use.
• Nicotine liquids, cartridges, pods, pouches, and replacement products.
• Age-restricted smoking or inhalation products.
• Equipment offered primarily to manufacture, distribute, or dispense prohibited alcohol or nicotine products.

Ordinary beverage-service equipment, coolers, kegs without alcohol, glassware, and event equipment may be permitted when no prohibited product is included.

9. Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Chemicals

Hazardous materials may not be listed when their rental, transport, storage, transfer, or intended use creates unreasonable legal, environmental, health, or safety risk.

• Poisons, toxins, chemical-warfare agents, and biological agents.
• Radioactive materials and regulated radiation sources.
• Highly toxic pesticides, fumigants, and restricted-use chemicals.
• Laboratory chemicals requiring specialized licensing or controls.
• Hazardous waste, medical waste, industrial waste, and contaminated materials.
• Asbestos-containing material and property contaminated with asbestos.
• Explosive, pyrophoric, highly reactive, or dangerously unstable chemicals.
• Chemical precursors offered for unlawful production.
• Compressed gases or cryogenic materials when transfer is unsupported or unlawful.
• Unlabeled, improperly labeled, leaking, damaged, expired, or unknown chemicals.

Common household, automotive, landscaping, maintenance, and cleaning products may be permitted when provided in ordinary lawful quantities, correctly labeled, safely contained, and incidental to permitted equipment.

10. Recalled, Defective, and Unsafe Property

• Property subject to an unresolved manufacturer or government safety recall.
• Property with disabled, removed, bypassed, or materially defective safety systems.
• Property with known structural, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, braking, steering, guarding, or fire hazards.
• Property that is materially damaged, unstable, contaminated, or unsafe for the disclosed use.
• Property that lacks legally required warnings, guards, restraints, shields, emergency stops, or protective components.
• Property that an Owner knows or reasonably should know cannot be used safely as listed.

An item may be listed after a recall only when the required remedy has been completed and the Owner can provide reliable documentation when requested.

11. Stolen, Counterfeit, and Unlawfully Obtained Property

• Stolen property.
• Property acquired through fraud, theft, embezzlement, or unauthorized Account access.
• Property with removed, concealed, altered, or falsified serial numbers or ownership markings.
• Counterfeit, pirated, cloned, or unauthorized branded products.
• Property subject to an unresolved lien, repossession, seizure, or ownership dispute when the rental is unauthorized.
• Government, employer, military, school, rental-company, or business property offered without authorization.
• Lost property retained without lawful ownership or authority.

MyRentable may request purchase records, serial numbers, registration documents, photographs, ownership records, or other evidence of lawful control.

12. Supported Items That May Require Additional Requirements

MyRentable may support higher-value, higher-risk, titled, registered, powered, or specialized property when the category is available on the Platform and the Listing and Booking satisfy all applicable requirements.

• Heavy construction and earthmoving equipment, including skid steers, compact track loaders, mini excavators, excavators, backhoes, trenchers, compactors, and stump grinders.
• Lifts and material-handling equipment, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and telehandlers.
• Off-road powersports equipment, including ATVs, side-by-sides, dirt bikes, go-karts, and snowmobiles.
• Boats and recreational watercraft, including fishing boats, pontoon boats, personal watercraft, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and similar supported equipment.
• Trailers and towable campers, including utility, enclosed, dump, equipment, car-hauler, boat, travel, pop-up, teardrop, and toy-hauler trailers when supported by MyRentable.
• Other high-value commercial, recreational, electronic, or specialty equipment approved within a supported category.

Depending on the item, value, location, Owner, Renter, and intended use, MyRentable may require identity verification, ownership or registration records, operator qualifications, a higher security deposit, insurance or protection coverage, transportation documentation, safety acknowledgments, additional terms, or manual review.

An item is not approved merely because it appears in an example above. The category must be available on MyRentable, the transaction must comply with applicable law, and all Platform requirements must be satisfied.

13. Road Vehicles Not Currently Supported

MyRentable does not currently support rentals of passenger or commercial motor vehicles primarily intended for licensed operation on public roads.

• Passenger cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, vans, and buses.
• Street motorcycles, mopeds, and road-legal scooters.
• Motor homes and self-propelled recreational vehicles.
• Commercial road vehicles, box trucks, tractor-trailers, and similar highway vehicles.
• Vehicles with altered vehicle-identification numbers, unresolved title issues, or unlawful registration status.

This restriction does not automatically prohibit supported off-road powersports equipment, heavy equipment, trailers, towable campers, boats, or recreational watercraft. Those items may be listed only in an available category and may be subject to additional requirements.

14. Aircraft and Unsupported Specialized Transportation

• Manned aircraft, helicopters, ultralights, gliders, powered parachutes, and aircraft intended to carry people.
• Submersibles and underwater passenger vehicles.
• Rail vehicles and railway equipment intended for operation on active rail systems.
• Military vehicles and weaponized vehicles.
• Transportation requiring specialized regulated transfer, registration, certification, licensing, or insurance that MyRentable does not support.

Supported boats, personal watercraft, paddlecraft, off-road powersports equipment, trailers, towable campers, and heavy equipment are governed by the supported-category and additional-requirements provisions of this Policy rather than this prohibition.

15. Drones and Unmanned Systems

Ordinary consumer or commercial drones may be permitted only when lawful and not weaponized or configured for prohibited surveillance.

• Weaponized drones.
• Drones configured to deliver prohibited items.
• Drones intended for stalking, harassment, illegal surveillance, or invasion of privacy.
• Restricted military or law-enforcement unmanned systems.
• Counter-drone jammers or unlawful interference devices.
• Drones lacking required registration when registration is applicable.

16. Surveillance, Tracking, and Interception Equipment

• Spyware, stalkerware, credential-stealing software, and malicious monitoring tools.
• Hidden cameras or recording devices promoted for unlawful or nonconsensual surveillance.
• Wiretapping, interception, or eavesdropping equipment offered for unlawful use.
• GPS trackers promoted for stalking or tracking a person without lawful authority.
• Cellular, GPS, radio, or communications jammers.
• Devices intended to bypass access controls, steal credentials, or capture payment information.
• Law-enforcement-only interception or surveillance equipment offered without authorization.

Ordinary security cameras, inspection cameras, trail cameras, surveying tools, and asset trackers may be permitted when used lawfully and not represented for prohibited conduct.

17. Cybersecurity and Access-Circumvention Tools

• Malware, ransomware, credential-stealing tools, botnets, and destructive software.
• Stolen login credentials, access tokens, payment data, or personal information.
• Equipment or software offered primarily to gain unauthorized system access.
• Skimmers, cloned access cards, forged credentials, and unauthorized key-programming systems.
• Tools intended to defeat digital rights management, Account protections, or security controls unlawfully.
• Services involving unauthorized penetration, interception, disruption, or data extraction.

Legitimate information-technology equipment and authorized security-testing tools may be permitted when the Listing has a lawful purpose and does not promote unauthorized use.

18. Locksmith, Entry, and Security-Bypass Equipment

Tools capable of bypassing locks or security systems may be prohibited when offered without a legitimate supported purpose.

• Lock-pick sets promoted for unauthorized entry.
• Bump keys, decoder tools, and master-key systems offered without appropriate controls.
• Vehicle-entry tools offered for theft or unauthorized access.
• Safe-cracking tools and access-code bypass devices.
• Key programmers or cloning devices offered for unauthorized use.

Ordinary locksmith equipment may be permitted for verified lawful professional use if MyRentable later implements appropriate category controls.

19. Adult Sexual Products and Explicit Content

• Sex toys and products intended primarily for sexual stimulation.
• Used intimate products.
• Pornographic media and explicit sexual content.
• Sex dolls and sexualized human replicas.
• BDSM equipment intended primarily for sexual activity.
• Services involving sexual activity, escorting, exploitation, or adult entertainment.
• Content involving minors, nonconsensual activity, exploitation, or trafficking.

Ordinary clothing, furniture, photography equipment, event equipment, health products, condoms, and personal lubricants are not prohibited solely because they may be used by adults, provided the Listing otherwise complies with MyRentable rules.

20. Human Remains and Sensitive Biological Material

• Human remains, bones, organs, tissue, blood, embryos, and bodily fluids.
• Medical specimens and pathology material.
• Human reproductive material.
• Items taken unlawfully from burial sites or cultural locations.
• Funerary objects whose transfer is unlawful or disrespectful.

21. Animals and Animal Products

• Live animals.
• Animal breeding, boarding, handling, transport, or rental services.
• Endangered, threatened, protected, illegally taken, or trafficked wildlife.
• Ivory and prohibited wildlife products.
• Animal fighting equipment and property intended for animal cruelty.
• Animal remains or products whose possession or transfer is unlawful.

Ordinary pet equipment, livestock equipment, trailers, kennels, fencing, grooming tools, and agricultural equipment may be permitted when no animal is included and the Listing otherwise complies with this Policy.

22. Real Estate and Lodging

MyRentable is a property and equipment rental marketplace and does not currently support real-estate or lodging transactions.

• Homes, apartments, rooms, cabins, campsites, and lodging.
• Commercial leases and office-space rentals.
• Storage-unit leases.
• Land leases and property-access rights.
• Timeshares and vacation-property interests.
• Parking-space leases unless MyRentable later expressly supports the category.

23. Money, Financial Products, and Documents

• Cash, currency, cryptocurrency, gift cards, and stored-value products.
• Bank accounts, payment Accounts, credit cards, and financial credentials.
• Loans, credit, investments, securities, and insurance products.
• Lottery tickets, gambling devices, wagering services, and casino products.
• Government benefits and benefit cards.
• Tax documents, financial records, or personal credit information.
• Blank checks, money orders, negotiable instruments, and counterfeit currency.
• Services intended to disguise, transfer, launder, or advance money.

24. Identity and Government Documents

• Government-issued identification documents.
• Passports, driver's licenses, permits, and professional credentials.
• Birth certificates, Social Security cards, and immigration documents.
• Police badges, government insignia, and official credentials.
• Forged, altered, counterfeit, stolen, or blank official documents.
• Equipment, templates, materials, or services intended to create false identification.

25. Government, Military, and Restricted Property

• Classified, export-controlled, or restricted technical information.
• Stolen or unauthorized government property.
• Current military equipment whose civilian transfer is prohibited.
• Law-enforcement-only weapons, restraints, interception devices, or credentials.
• Official uniforms, badges, identification, or equipment offered for impersonation.
• Property subject to sanctions, trade restrictions, or export controls when the transaction is prohibited.

26. Terrorist and Extremist Material

• Material supporting or fundraising for a designated terrorist organization.
• Training materials intended to facilitate terrorism or violent extremist activity.
• Propaganda offered to recruit, threaten, glorify, or facilitate violence.
• Uniforms, flags, insignia, or merchandise offered to support a violent extremist organization.
• Equipment or services intended to support terrorism, mass violence, or organized violent activity.

Historical, journalistic, educational, documentary, or museum material may be evaluated according to context, legality, and risk.

27. Hateful and Abusive Material

• Property or content promoting violence against a protected group.
• Material intended to harass, threaten, intimidate, or dehumanize another person.
• Objects or displays used to target a person or protected group.
• Content celebrating mass violence or encouraging imitation.

Historical, educational, documentary, artistic, or newsworthy material may be reviewed in context, but it may not be used to threaten, harass, recruit, or promote violence.

28. Private, Confidential, and Personal Property

• Stolen personal information.
• Medical records, financial records, passwords, and Account credentials.
• Private photographs, recordings, or messages shared without authorization.
• Devices containing personal information when the Owner lacks authority to disclose it.
• Property intended to facilitate stalking, harassment, identity theft, or doxxing.

29. Intellectual-Property Violations

• Counterfeit branded goods.
• Pirated software, media, games, or digital content.
• Unauthorized replicas presented as genuine.
• Equipment containing unlawfully copied licensed software.
• Property using another party's trademarks, photographs, manuals, or content without authorization.
• Devices primarily intended to defeat copyright protection unlawfully.

30. Tickets, Licenses, Memberships, and Access Rights

• Event tickets and admission credentials.
• Software licenses and subscription Accounts.
• Memberships, loyalty Accounts, and reward benefits.
• Hunting, fishing, professional, operating, and government licenses.
• Building, facility, or restricted-area access credentials.
• Accounts or services whose terms prohibit rental, sharing, or transfer.

31. Services and Labor

MyRentable currently supports rental of eligible property and does not operate as a general labor or services marketplace.

• Unlicensed professional services.
• Medical, legal, financial, insurance, or tax services.
• Transportation of people.
• Security, armed-guard, bounty, or enforcement services.
• Sexual services or adult entertainment.
• Illegal labor or services facilitating prohibited conduct.
• Employment arrangements, staffing, and labor-only Listings.

Delivery, setup, demonstration, ordinary maintenance, or instruction directly incidental to an eligible property rental may be permitted when lawful and clearly disclosed.

32. Prohibited Uses of Otherwise Permitted Property

Property that is ordinarily permitted may not be listed or rented for a prohibited purpose.

• Committing or facilitating a crime.
• Harassing, stalking, threatening, or surveilling another person unlawfully.
• Manufacturing drugs, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods, or false documents.
• Damaging property or infrastructure.
• Bypassing safety, emissions, environmental, access, or security controls unlawfully.
• Animal cruelty, human exploitation, trafficking, or abuse.
• Operating while impaired or without required licensing.
• Exceeding disclosed operating, load, capacity, speed, geographic, or environmental limits.
• Exporting or transferring property in violation of law.

33. Restricted Categories

Some property may be allowed only after MyRentable introduces category-specific controls.

• Heavy industrial machinery.
• High-capacity lifting equipment.
• Powered access equipment.
• Commercial construction equipment.
• Equipment requiring operator certification.
• Specialized medical or accessibility equipment.
• Compressed-gas equipment.
• High-voltage electrical equipment.
• Professional locksmith equipment.
• Drones requiring registration or commercial-operation compliance.
• Property requiring specialized insurance, inspection, or transportation.

MyRentable may require identity verification, ownership verification, proof of insurance, licenses, certifications, inspections, safety acknowledgments, additional terms, or manual approval before supporting a restricted category.

34. Owner Obligations

• Review this Policy before publishing a Listing.
• Confirm lawful ownership and authority to rent the property.
• Research recalls, restrictions, licensing, and safety requirements.
• Select an accurate category and provide a complete description.
• Disclose material hazards, defects, requirements, and restrictions.
• Remove or pause a Listing that becomes prohibited, unsafe, recalled, stolen, or unlawfully possessed.
• Respond honestly to MyRentable requests for documentation.
• Do not disguise a prohibited item through misleading photographs, wording, categories, or bundled transactions.

35. Renter Obligations

• Do not request or pressure an Owner to provide prohibited property.
• Do not use permitted property for a prohibited purpose.
• Maintain required licenses, permits, qualifications, insurance, and supervision.
• Report suspected stolen, counterfeit, recalled, unsafe, or prohibited property.
• Do not move a prohibited transaction outside MyRentable.
• Stop using property when a serious undisclosed safety issue becomes apparent.

36. Reporting a Prohibited Listing

Users should report suspected prohibited property through available reporting tools or MyRentable support.

A useful report may include:

• The Listing, Account, Booking, or message involved.
• A description of the suspected violation.
• Screenshots, photographs, messages, serial numbers, recall information, or other relevant evidence.
• Information concerning an immediate safety risk.
• Whether law enforcement, a manufacturer, regulator, or other authority has been contacted.

37. MyRentable Review

MyRentable may review any Listing, Booking, message, payment, report, or Account for compliance with this Policy.

MyRentable may request:

• Proof of ownership or lawful possession.
• Purchase records and serial numbers.
• Licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications.
• Inspection, maintenance, recall-remedy, or repair records.
• Insurance information.
• Photographs and identifying information.
• An explanation of the property's intended use and transaction terms.

Failure to provide reasonably requested information may result in removal or restriction even when MyRentable cannot conclusively determine that the property is prohibited.

38. Enforcement Actions

MyRentable may take action reasonably necessary to protect Users, the public, payment systems, and the marketplace.

• Reject, remove, hide, or restrict a Listing.
• Cancel or prevent a Booking.
• Restrict messages, payments, refunds, claims, or payouts.
• Require additional verification or documentation.
• Issue a warning or require corrective action.
• Temporarily suspend an Account.
• Permanently terminate an Account.
• Preserve information and evidence.
• Notify payment providers, insurers, manufacturers, regulators, law enforcement, or other appropriate parties.

MyRentable may act without advance notice when property appears stolen, illegal, dangerous, recalled, fraudulent, or connected to an immediate safety concern.

39. Effect on Bookings, Refunds, and Payouts

When a Listing or Booking violates this Policy, MyRentable may determine refund and payout treatment based on the circumstances and User responsibility.

• An innocent Renter may receive a refund of eligible Booking charges.
• An Owner who listed prohibited property may lose eligibility for Owner earnings.
• A User who knowingly requested or used prohibited property may receive reduced or no refund where legally permitted.
• Payments or payouts may be held during fraud, safety, legal, chargeback, or ownership review.
• MyRentable may recover refunds, chargebacks, penalties, or costs caused by a User's violation.

40. Possession, Return, and Seizure

MyRentable does not take possession of prohibited property and does not provide storage, surrender, destruction, or transportation services.

Users must not transport, mail, return, transfer, destroy, or surrender prohibited property in a manner that violates law or creates danger.

When property is suspected to be stolen, illegal, explosive, contaminated, or otherwise dangerous, Users should obtain instructions from the appropriate authority before moving or returning it.

41. Law Enforcement and Legal Compliance

MyRentable may preserve or disclose information in response to valid legal process, qualifying emergency requests, applicable law, or a credible threat to safety.

MyRentable may report suspected theft, fraud, exploitation, violence, illegal weapons, controlled substances, dangerous materials, or other serious unlawful conduct.

Users must not interfere with a lawful investigation, conceal prohibited property, destroy evidence, or retaliate against a person who submits a good-faith report.

42. Good-Faith Mistakes and Corrective Action

MyRentable may consider whether a violation resulted from an honest mistake, unclear category, changed legal status, newly announced recall, or other correctable circumstance.

Prompt removal, truthful cooperation, completion of a recall remedy, and other corrective action may be considered during enforcement.

Corrective action does not require MyRentable to restore a Listing or Account when continued marketplace risk remains unacceptable.

43. Appeals

A User may request review of an eligible decision involving this Policy.

An appeal should:

• Identify the Listing, Booking, Account, or decision.
• Explain why the property or transaction is permitted.
• Provide new, corrected, or previously unavailable evidence.
• Include proof of ownership, recall remedy, licensing, inspection, or other relevant documentation.
• Be submitted within the period stated in the decision notice.

MyRentable may uphold, modify, reverse, or return the matter for additional review.

MyRentable may refuse to restore a category that the platform does not support even when the property may otherwise be lawful.

44. Policy Interpretation

Examples in this Policy are illustrative and do not identify every prohibited item, service, transaction, or use.

MyRentable may treat a substantially similar item or transaction as prohibited when it creates comparable legal, safety, fraud, insurance, payment, or marketplace risk.

MyRentable may restrict a category while developing appropriate verification, insurance, payment, legal, or safety controls.

45. Nonwaivable Legal Rights

This Policy applies only to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in this Policy authorizes conduct prohibited by federal, state, local, tribal, or other applicable law.

Nothing in this Policy eliminates a legal right, remedy, reporting right, or consumer protection that cannot lawfully be waived.

46. Changes to This Policy
