Quick summary

  • The Renter pays the rental charges and MyRentable Service Fee shown before confirming a Booking.
  • The MyRentable Service Fee is calculated from the rental subtotal only, using the published tiered fee schedule.
  • Security deposits, taxes, delivery charges, optional products, and other disclosed amounts are separate from the rental subtotal.
  • MyRentable and its payment processors may authorize, collect, hold, refund, reverse, transfer, or recover eligible transaction amounts.
  • Users must not use off-platform payment, false disputes, chargeback abuse, or other methods to avoid valid payment obligations.

1. Purpose and Scope

This Platform Fees and Payment Policy explains how MyRentable, LLC calculates and processes marketplace charges, payments, deposits, refunds, credits, disputes, and related financial activity.

This Policy applies to Owners, Renters, Bookings, payment methods, payouts, refunds, Damage Claims, Booking modifications, and other payment activity processed through MyRentable.

This Policy supplements the Terms of Service, Cancellation and Refund Policy, Damage Claims Policy, Owner Payout Policy, and transaction-specific information displayed during checkout.

2. Payment Principles

  • The complete amount due must be displayed before the Renter confirms payment.
  • A User authorizes payment only after completing the applicable checkout or payment-confirmation action.
  • MyRentable may use third-party payment processors to collect, hold, transfer, refund, or otherwise process funds.
  • An authorization, completed payment, refund, reversal, payout, transfer, and chargeback are separate financial events.
  • A payment-processing delay does not automatically cancel a valid Booking or eliminate an amount owed.
  • Users must keep payment and payout information accurate and current.
  • Nothing in this Policy permits a charge, fee, or practice prohibited by applicable law.

3. Definitions

Booking Total
The total amount presented to the Renter before payment, including all applicable rental charges, Service Fees, taxes, delivery charges, optional products, and other disclosed amounts.
Deposit
An amount authorized, collected, held, or reserved in connection with a Booking to address potential payment obligations, Damage, Loss, late return, or other permitted charges.
Owner Earnings
The portion of eligible Booking proceeds payable to the Owner after refunds, adjustments, reversals, taxes, disclosed deductions, and other applicable amounts.
Payment Authorization
Permission to verify and reserve an amount against a payment method without necessarily completing final collection immediately.
Payment Method
A card, bank account, digital wallet, marketplace credit, or other payment instrument supported by MyRentable or its payment processor.
Rental Subtotal
The amount charged for the confirmed Rental Period before Service Fees, taxes, Deposits, delivery charges, optional products, and other separate charges.
Service Fee
The renter-facing fee charged by MyRentable for marketplace, technology, payment, fraud-prevention, support, and transaction services.

4. Booking Charges

Depending on the Listing, Booking, location, and selected options, the Booking Total may include:

  • The Rental Subtotal.
  • The MyRentable Service Fee.
  • A security Deposit or payment authorization.
  • Applicable taxes.
  • Delivery, pickup, setup, recovery, or transportation charges.
  • Optional insurance, protection, or other products.
  • Approved Booking-modification charges.
  • Other lawful charges clearly disclosed before confirmation.

A charge that was not disclosed before confirmation may be added only through an approved Booking modification, an applicable policy process, a supported Damage Claim, or another lawful authorization.

5. Rental Subtotal

The Rental Subtotal is calculated from the Owner's listed rental price and the confirmed Rental Period.

The exact calculation may depend on the pricing unit supported by the Listing, such as daily, weekly, or another clearly disclosed rental interval.

The Rental Subtotal does not include:

  • The MyRentable Service Fee.
  • Taxes.
  • Security Deposits.
  • Delivery or setup charges.
  • Optional insurance or protection products.
  • Damage, Loss, cleaning, recovery, or late-return amounts.
  • Other separately disclosed charges.

6. MyRentable Service Fee

MyRentable charges the Renter a Service Fee for access to and use of marketplace, technology, payment, fraud-prevention, support, recordkeeping, and transaction services.

The Service Fee is calculated from the Rental Subtotal only.

The Service Fee is not calculated from:

  • Security Deposits.
  • Taxes.
  • Delivery or setup charges.
  • Optional insurance or protection products.
  • Damage Claim amounts.
  • Refunds, credits, penalties, or other separate transaction amounts.

7. Service Fee Schedule

Unless a different fee is expressly displayed and accepted before confirmation, the following renter-facing Service Fee schedule applies:

$3,000.00$3,000.00 × 4%$120.00

Examples are provided for explanation. The fee displayed during checkout controls the Booking unless a system or calculation error is identified.

9. Rounding

Percentage-based fees are calculated to the smallest supported currency unit.

When a calculation produces a fraction of one cent, MyRentable may round according to standard payment-processing methods.

The final amount displayed before confirmation is the amount authorized by the Renter, subject to correction of an obvious system or pricing error.

10. Owner Fees and Deductions

MyRentable does not impose an undisclosed Owner marketplace commission.

Any Owner fee, payout deduction, payment-processing allocation, insurance charge, promotion charge, or optional service charge must be disclosed before the Owner becomes obligated to pay it.

Owner earnings may still be reduced or offset by:

  • Approved refunds.
  • Booking cancellations.
  • Payment reversals and chargebacks.
  • Approved Damage Claims owed by the Owner.
  • Negative Account balances.
  • Taxes or withholding required by law.
  • Optional services expressly selected by the Owner.
  • Other amounts authorized by the Terms, policies, or an approved transaction.

11. Payment Processor

MyRentable may use one or more third-party payment processors to provide payment, identity, payout, fraud-prevention, and financial-account services.

A payment processor may require a User to agree to separate terms, provide additional information, or complete verification before processing payments or payouts.

MyRentable generally does not control the payment processor's independent banking timelines, card-network rules, financial-institution decisions, or verification requirements.

12. Supported Payment Methods

MyRentable may support one or more Payment Methods depending on location, transaction type, currency, Account status, and payment-provider availability.

  • Credit and debit cards.
  • Supported digital wallets.
  • Supported bank-payment methods.
  • Marketplace credits or promotional value.
  • Other payment methods expressly offered during checkout.

MyRentable may add, restrict, or discontinue a Payment Method without making every method available for every Booking.

13. Payment Authorization

By confirming payment, the Renter authorizes MyRentable and its payment processor to verify the Payment Method and authorize or collect the displayed Booking Total.

A Payment Authorization may temporarily reduce the available credit or funds associated with the Payment Method even before final collection.

MyRentable may request a new authorization when:

  • The original authorization expires.
  • The Booking is modified.
  • The Rental Period is extended.
  • An additional supported charge is approved.
  • The Payment Method is replaced.
  • The payment processor requires another authorization.

14. Payment Collection and Capture

MyRentable may collect the Booking Total immediately or authorize an amount for later capture, depending on the Booking workflow and payment method.

A confirmed Booking may remain subject to successful payment collection, fraud review, identity verification, and other transaction requirements.

MyRentable may cancel or restrict a Booking when required payment cannot be authorized or collected.

15. Security Deposits

A Listing may require a security Deposit or separate Payment Authorization.

The Deposit amount must be disclosed before the Renter confirms the Booking.

A Deposit may be used toward eligible amounts involving:

  • Damage beyond Ordinary Wear and Tear.
  • Theft, Loss, or nonreturn.
  • Missing accessories or components.
  • Excessive Cleaning.
  • Late return or recovery costs.
  • Other supported amounts authorized by the Booking and applicable policies.

A Deposit is not automatic payment to the Owner and does not determine the final amount of responsibility.

16. Deposit Release and Collection

An unused Deposit or authorization will be released or refunded after the applicable review period, subject to payment-provider processing.

MyRentable may delay release when:

  • A Damage Claim or transaction dispute is pending.
  • The property has not been returned.
  • A payment is disputed or reversed.
  • Fraud, theft, identity misuse, or Account abuse is under review.
  • Applicable law, legal process, or a payment provider requires continued retention.

The approved amount of responsibility may be less than, equal to, or greater than the Deposit when permitted by law and supported by the applicable process.

17. Taxes

A Booking may be subject to sales, use, rental, excise, transaction, local, or other taxes.

MyRentable may calculate, collect, report, remit, or withhold taxes when required by law or supported by the platform.

Tax treatment may depend on:

  • The Owner's location.
  • The Renter's location.
  • The property's location.
  • The pickup, delivery, or use location.
  • The property category.
  • The Rental Period.
  • The legal identity and tax status of the parties.
  • Applicable state and local tax rules.

Owners remain responsible for income-tax reporting and other tax obligations that MyRentable is not legally required to handle.

18. Receipts and Transaction Records

MyRentable may provide electronic records showing the amounts associated with a Booking.

  • Rental Subtotal.
  • Service Fee.
  • Deposit or authorization.
  • Taxes.
  • Delivery or optional charges.
  • Refunds and adjustments.
  • Payment and Booking status.

Users should review transaction information promptly and report suspected errors through MyRentable.

19. Booking Modifications

An approved Booking modification may increase or decrease the Rental Subtotal and related charges.

When a modification changes the Rental Subtotal, MyRentable may recalculate the Service Fee using the updated Rental Subtotal and applicable fee tier.

A modification may require:

  • Additional payment authorization.
  • Collection of an additional amount.
  • A partial refund or adjustment.
  • Recalculation of taxes.
  • A revised Deposit or payment hold.
  • Approval by both the Owner and Renter.

A modification is not complete until all required approvals and payment actions succeed.

20. Cancellations and Refunds

Refund eligibility is governed primarily by the Cancellation and Refund Policy and the terms recorded with the Booking.

A refund may treat each Booking component separately.

  • Rental Subtotal.
  • Service Fee.
  • Deposit.
  • Taxes.
  • Delivery or setup charges.
  • Optional products.
  • Promotional credits.
  • Other transaction amounts.

Cancelling a Booking does not automatically require refund of every amount.

21. Service Fee Refunds

The Service Fee may be refunded when the Cancellation and Refund Policy or applicable law provides for a refund.

The Service Fee is generally refundable when:

  • The Owner cancels the confirmed Booking.
  • The property is unavailable through no fault of the Renter.
  • A verified Material Listing Problem results in complete cancellation before meaningful use.
  • The Renter cancels within a period expressly providing a Service Fee refund.
  • MyRentable determines that the transaction could not lawfully proceed.
  • Applicable law requires the refund.

The Service Fee is generally not refundable when:

  • The Renter cancels after the refundable period.
  • The Renter is a No-Show.
  • The Renter voluntarily ends the rental early.
  • The Renter cannot satisfy clearly disclosed requirements.
  • The Renter materially violates the Terms, Community Standards, or Listing terms.

22. Refund Method

An approved monetary refund is generally returned to the original Payment Method.

When the original Payment Method cannot receive a refund, MyRentable or its payment processor may request another legally permitted method or information needed to complete the refund.

Marketplace credit may be used when:

  • The original transaction used marketplace credit.
  • The User voluntarily accepts credit.
  • The applicable promotion or credit terms require restoration as credit.
  • Applicable law and the transaction terms permit it.

23. Refund Processing

MyRentable will initiate an approved refund within a reasonable period after the decision and completion of any required fraud, payment, or claim review.

After initiation, the time for funds to appear depends on the payment processor, financial institution, card network, payment method, and applicable law.

A refund may appear as:

  • A separate credit.
  • A reversal of the original charge.
  • Release of a pending authorization.
  • A restored marketplace credit.
  • Another supported adjustment.

24. Failed and Declined Payments

A payment may fail or be declined because of insufficient funds, issuer restrictions, incorrect information, suspected fraud, expired authorization, verification requirements, network issues, or other payment-provider reasons.

When a payment fails, MyRentable may:

  • Request another Payment Method.
  • Retry collection where permitted.
  • Require additional verification.
  • Pause confirmation or modification.
  • Cancel the affected Booking.
  • Restrict payment or Account features.

MyRentable may be unable to disclose confidential fraud or issuer-decision details.

25. Additional Authorized Amounts

A User may be responsible for additional amounts arising after initial checkout when supported by the Booking and applicable policies.

  • Approved Booking extensions or modifications.
  • Damage, theft, Loss, or missing property.
  • Excessive Cleaning.
  • Late return, recovery, towing, storage, or transportation.
  • Refunds or credits caused by the User's conduct.
  • Chargeback, reversal, or negative-balance recovery.
  • Taxes or legally required adjustments.
  • Other amounts voluntarily approved or legally owed.

MyRentable will use the applicable claim, modification, support, or payment process before collecting a disputed additional amount, except where immediate action is authorized by law or necessary to prevent fraud or loss.

26. Authorization to Recover Amounts Owed

Subject to the Terms of Service, applicable authorization, and law, MyRentable and its payment processors may recover an amount owed from:

  • The original Payment Method.
  • A replacement Payment Method provided by the User.
  • A Deposit or payment authorization.
  • An Account balance or marketplace credit.
  • An Owner payout or other amount payable to the User.
  • Another lawful collection method.

A failed collection attempt does not eliminate the underlying payment obligation.

27. Negative Account Balances

A User's MyRentable or connected payment Account may have a negative balance after a refund, dispute, chargeback, reversal, claim, adjustment, or payment failure.

MyRentable may address a negative balance by:

  • Offsetting future payments, credits, or payouts.
  • Requesting payment from the User.
  • Debiting an authorized external account where supported and permitted.
  • Restricting new Listings, Bookings, payments, or payouts.
  • Using lawful collection or recovery methods.

28. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

A chargeback occurs when a payment-method holder disputes a transaction through a card issuer, bank, wallet provider, or other financial institution.

Users should contact MyRentable before submitting a chargeback when the issue can reasonably be addressed through the platform's cancellation, refund, claim, or support process.

MyRentable may respond to a dispute using relevant transaction records, including:

  • Terms and policy acceptance records.
  • Account and identity information.
  • Listing and checkout information.
  • Booking, payment, modification, and cancellation history.
  • Platform messages and notifications.
  • Pickup, delivery, use, return, and condition evidence.
  • Claim, refund, credit, and settlement records.

29. Chargeback Responsibility

Submitting a chargeback does not automatically cancel a Booking, reverse a Claim decision, or eliminate a valid payment obligation.

When a chargeback or payment dispute affects Owner funds, MyRentable may:

  • Delay or hold a payout.
  • Reverse or recover a prior payout.
  • Offset the amount against future Owner earnings.
  • Request information or evidence from the Owner.
  • Restrict an Account while the dispute is pending.

An improper or fraudulent chargeback may result in payment recovery, negative balances, Account restrictions, suspension, termination, or referral to an appropriate authority.

30. Off-Platform Payments

Users may not move a MyRentable-originated transaction outside the platform to avoid Service Fees, payment records, support, fraud controls, claims, or other marketplace protections.

  • Do not request cash payment for a MyRentable Booking.
  • Do not request payment through an unsupported wallet, wire transfer, gift card, cryptocurrency, or payment application.
  • Do not cancel a Booking to complete the same rental privately.
  • Do not split a Booking between MyRentable and an off-platform payment.
  • Do not disguise a rental payment as a Deposit, tip, gift, reimbursement, or unrelated transaction.

MyRentable may cancel Bookings, restrict Accounts, recover unpaid fees, or deny marketplace assistance involving off-platform circumvention.

31. Tips and Voluntary Payments

Users may not use tips or voluntary payments to disguise rental charges, required fees, deposits, damages, or off-platform compensation.

A voluntary tip feature may be offered only when expressly supported by MyRentable and clearly separated from required Booking charges.

32. Marketplace Credits

MyRentable may issue marketplace credits for promotions, referrals, customer service, refunds, or other purposes.

Credits may be subject to:

  • Expiration dates.
  • Eligible Accounts or Bookings.
  • Minimum or maximum transaction amounts.
  • Geographic or category restrictions.
  • Nontransferability.
  • Fraud and abuse controls.
  • Other clearly disclosed promotion terms.

Credits are generally not redeemable for cash except where required by law.

33. Promotions, Coupons, and Discounts

A promotion, coupon, referral reward, or discount may reduce an eligible charge according to its stated terms.

MyRentable may deny, cancel, or recover promotional value obtained through:

  • Duplicate or false Accounts.
  • Self-referrals.
  • Coordinated fake Bookings.
  • Payment manipulation.
  • False identity or contact information.
  • Violation of promotion terms.
  • Fraud, abuse, or technical exploitation.

34. Currency and Conversion

Unless otherwise displayed, MyRentable transactions are processed in United States dollars.

A card issuer, bank, wallet provider, or other financial institution may apply its own foreign-exchange rate or international transaction fee.

MyRentable is not responsible for a third party's independent exchange rate or financial-institution charge.

35. Payment Security

Users must protect payment credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized payment activity.

  • Do not share full payment credentials through messages.
  • Do not provide passwords, security codes, or authentication codes to another User.
  • Do not use a Payment Method without authorization.
  • Do not submit false billing, identity, or Account information.
  • Do not attempt to bypass payment, verification, or fraud controls.

MyRentable may restrict payment activity when unauthorized use, identity misuse, fraud, theft, or Account compromise is suspected.

36. Payment and Pricing Errors

MyRentable may correct an obvious payment, calculation, duplicate-processing, pricing, tax, currency, or system error.

Depending on the circumstances, MyRentable may:

  • Cancel an incorrect authorization.
  • Issue a refund or adjustment.
  • Collect an underpayment after notice and authorization.
  • Correct a payout or transfer.
  • Cancel a Booking before the Rental Period.
  • Offer the parties an opportunity to accept corrected terms.

MyRentable will not knowingly use an error to impose an undisclosed charge.

37. Payment Holds and Reviews

MyRentable may temporarily hold, delay, or restrict a payment, refund, transfer, Deposit, or payout while reviewing:

  • Suspected fraud or Account takeover.
  • Identity, ownership, tax, or payment verification.
  • A Damage Claim or Booking dispute.
  • A chargeback, reversal, or negative balance.
  • Prohibited property or unlawful activity.
  • A safety report or serious policy violation.
  • Legal process or regulatory requirements.
  • A material system or processing error.

A temporary hold does not necessarily mean MyRentable has made a final finding against a User.

38. Owner Payouts

Owner earnings are paid according to the Owner Payout Policy.

A successful Renter payment does not necessarily mean Owner funds are immediately available for payout.

Payout timing and eligibility may depend on:

  • Completion of the Rental Period.
  • Booking status.
  • Payment settlement.
  • Identity and payout verification.
  • Refund, cancellation, claim, and dispute status.
  • Negative balances or reserves.
  • Payment-provider and financial-institution processing.

39. Platform Payment Records

MyRentable may rely on platform and payment-provider records when reviewing payment activity.

  • Checkout and acceptance records.
  • Payment-intent and transaction identifiers.
  • Authorization and capture status.
  • Refund, reversal, dispute, and chargeback records.
  • Transfer and payout records.
  • Booking, modification, cancellation, and claim records.
  • Messages, notifications, and support activity.
  • Fraud, identity, and verification indicators.

Users should keep material payment and transaction communications within MyRentable whenever a platform workflow is available.

40. User Payment Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate payment, billing, payout, identity, and tax information.
  • Use only Payment Methods and financial Accounts the User is authorized to use.
  • Maintain sufficient available funds or credit.
  • Review charges before confirming payment.
  • Report suspected errors or unauthorized activity promptly.
  • Pay supported amounts owed under the Booking and applicable policies.
  • Cooperate with legitimate payment, refund, dispute, identity, and fraud reviews.
  • Do not use chargebacks, reversals, false claims, or off-platform payment to avoid valid obligations.

41. Payment Fraud and Abuse

Users may not misuse MyRentable payment systems.

  • Using stolen or unauthorized Payment Methods.
  • Creating false Bookings, refunds, claims, payouts, or transfers.
  • Submitting false chargebacks or payment disputes.
  • Manipulating pricing, promotions, credits, Deposits, taxes, or fees.
  • Using MyRentable to transmit, launder, disguise, or advance money.
  • Coordinating transactions between controlled Accounts to create false activity.
  • Providing false identity, billing, payout, or tax information.
  • Attempting to bypass payment-provider or MyRentable controls.

Payment fraud or abuse may result in cancellation, refund denial, payment recovery, payout reversal, negative balances, Account restrictions, suspension, termination, or referral to an appropriate authority.

42. Disputing a MyRentable Payment Decision

A User may request review of an eligible payment, fee, refund, credit, Deposit, or adjustment decision.

The request should:

  • Identify the Booking and affected transaction.
  • Identify the specific amount disputed.
  • Explain why the amount is believed to be incorrect.
  • Include relevant receipts, statements, messages, screenshots, or other evidence.
  • Be submitted within the period stated in the decision notice or applicable policy.

MyRentable may uphold, modify, reverse, refund, recollect, or further investigate the amount.

43. Payment Processor and Financial Institution Decisions

A payment processor, card issuer, bank, wallet provider, or other financial institution may make an independent decision concerning authorization, fraud, disputes, refunds, or Account access.

MyRentable may provide available transaction information or assist with a review but may not control the third party's final decision.

A third-party decision does not necessarily determine the contractual obligations between the Owner, Renter, and MyRentable.

45. Changes to This Policy

MyRentable may update this Policy to reflect changes in fees, payment processors, supported Payment Methods, laws, taxes, marketplace features, fraud controls, or business operations.

The current version, effective date, and last-updated date will appear in the Legal Center.

The fees and material payment terms displayed and accepted when a Booking is confirmed generally continue to govern that Booking unless applicable law, an approved modification, or the updated Policy expressly requires otherwise.

MyRentable will provide appropriate notice before applying a materially changed Service Fee schedule to future Bookings.

46. Questions and Support

Questions about a Booking payment should be submitted through the applicable Booking or support workflow. General payment-policy questions may be sent to support@myrentable.com.

A request should identify the Booking, transaction, amount, date, and requested resolution.

Users should not send full card numbers, bank credentials, passwords, or security codes through email or platform messages.
